Seven.One Entertainment Group, RTL Deutschland plan tech joint venture

Germany’s Seven.One Entertainment Group and RTL Deutschland are establishing a technology joint venture, subject to pending regulatory approvals.

The joint venture provides central technical solutions for device manufacturers and broadcasters to make interactive offers on smart TVs more easily accessible for addressable TV, where advertisers target ads to specific households.

These solutions will be licensable to all broadcasters in Europe. This will create the necessary technical bridge between open standards and their marketable implementation in end devices.

The partners expect the necessary regulatory approvals to be granted during the second half of 2022.

RTL Deutschland and Seven.One Entertainment – a 100% subsidiary of ProSiebenSat.1 – are already working together to support advertisers in addressing customer target groups via addressable TV and online video through the joint venture D-Force. MD of D-Force is Jens Pöppelmann.
