Seven Network unearths S2 of Prospero Productions’ Outback Crystal Hunters

Prospero Productions created Outback Crystal Hunters for Seven and WBD

Australia’s Seven Network has ordered a second season of Outback Crystal Hunters from west Australian factual specialist Prospero Productions.

The second run of the documentary series, currently in post-production, follows a team of real-life treasure hunters through remote Australian terrain as they search for reserves of rare and sought-after crystals.

The show was created by Prospero for Seven Network and Warner Bros Discovery. Both seasons attracted principal production funding from Screenwest and Lotterywest, while global distribution is being handled by Sphere Abacus.

Prospero Productions is also in production on new series Hunting Outback Gold, a co-commission from Australia’s Nine Network and UKTV’s U&Yesterday. Screenwest and Lotterywest have contributed to principal funding and international distribution is handled by Bossa Nova Media.

The show follows modern-day gold diggers as they follow the path of 1930s gold prospector Harrold Lasseter in his quest to rediscover a vast source of gold. It will premiere later this year.
