Seth Meyers extends NBC deal

Late Night with Seth Meyers

Comcast-owned US network NBC has renewed its contract with comedy entertainer Seth Meyers to host talkshow Late Night with Seth Meyers.

Under the extension, Meyers will continue presenting the show through 2025. Meyers and Mike Shoemaker’s prodco Sethmaker Shoemeyers Productions’ existing deal with fellow Comcast-owned company Universal Studio Group has been extended through the same period.

Late Night was first launched in 1982 with David Letterman as host. It has since been fronted by Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Fallon and Meyers, who took the helm in 2014.

Katie Hockmeyer, exec VP of late-night programming at NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, said: “Seth is a rare talent who makes America laugh and think every night. His ‘Closer Look’ segments are classic combinations of comedy with commentary. Seth is a brilliant stand-up comedian, interviewer and political commentator. His voice matters more now than ever.”
