See-Saw Films JV Picking Scabs appoints Louise Gough, promotes Maria Nicholson

Picking Scabs, the prodco formed by London- and Sydney-based See-Saw Films and Australian writer/producer Samantha Strauss, has appointed Louise Gough as executive producer.

Gough joins from Screen Australia where she was head of development. Her previous roles include head of development at Arenamedia, head of new work at Belvoir Theatre, editorial manager at ABC TV Drama and Narrative Comedy and script manager at Film Victoria, and she was also in the development team at Madman Production Company.

Gough has also worked as a script advisor with Sources 2 in Europe and as an advisor for the Berlinale Talent Campus Script Station. Through freelance development work, she has worked with companies including Matchbox, Roadshow, Felix Media, Easy Tiger, Fremantle, Hoodlum and Blackfella Films.

Gough’s appointment comes on the heels of a number of TV talent hires for See-Saw, with exec producers Moss Barclay, Ann Phillips and Julian Stevens joining the company in 2022 working out of the UK office.

See-Saw has also promoted development coordinator Maria Nicholson to development producer. Based at the UK office, Nicholson will now develop her own slate focusing on intimate, warm, younger-skewing drama as well as working across See-Saw’s TV slate as a whole.
