Scripps hires programming director

US channels operator Scripps Networks Interactive has hired a former freelancer to oversee production of original programming for DIY Network and HGTV, and also promoted company veteran Heather Jagels.

Dale Roy Robinson is the new director of programming for Scripps Networks Interactive Home Category. He will also be also responsible for programme development, production and talent acquisition for DIY series and specials, including The Adam Carolla Project and Desperate Landscapes.

He was previously a freelance producer and director for clients including NBC, MTV, VH1 and GSN.

Jagels has been upped from manager to director of creative services. She will oversee DIY’s internal production staff and the on-air promotions team.
