Screen Queensland confirms Gina Black to permanent role overseeing production

Australian funding body Screen Queensland has appointed Gina Black to the newly created permanent role of head of physical production.

Gina Black

Black, who has been with Screen Queensland in various senior roles since 2013, has been seconded to the position for the past 18 months.

She will continue to provide hands-on support to local, interstate and international film and series productions in Queensland as production in the area continues to grow following disruption due to Covid-19.

Black will report to Screen Queensland’s chief creative officer, Dr Belinda Burns, and act as a bridge between Screen Queensland and the wider production community.

Black came to Screen Queensland after more than two decades in various line producer and unit production manager roles, representing organisations including The Walt Disney Company.

Screen Queensland CEO Kylie Munnich said: “Screen Queensland has created a permanent industry-facing role to support physical screen production in the state.

“We see this as critical support for producers, both domestic and international, to ensure that Queensland is seen as the destination of choice for screen production.”
