Screen Glue stuck on BBC exec

Screen Glue, the UK indie founded by Wide-Eyed Entertainment co-founder Jasper James, has added an executive from the BBC to its development team.

Development exec and executive producer Will Aslett has joined the team to work alongside James on the company’s unscripted slate.

Aslett was previously international lead for BBC History and Business, developing coproductions that included Royal Wives at War and How Hip Hop Conquered the World.

Prior to that he was part of the BBC Science team, executive producing Pompeii: The Mystery of the Bodies Frozen in Time, among others.

Aslett had an earlier spell with the BBC’s specialist factual department in the 1990s and then went on to produce National Geographic’s long-running series Naked Science at Pioneer Productions. He also worked at Impossible Pictures, where he first met James.

James founded Screen Glue in 2013 to create scripted and unscripted content, including recent kids’ drama Quarx and animated history series Lost Lands.
