Screen Australia promotes Michele McDonald to new offset and copro advisor role

Screen Australia has elevated Michele McDonald to the newly-created position of producer offset and coproduction unit (POCU) advisor.

The new position was designed to liaise directly with the industry on how to best access the producer offset and coproduction programmes and offer a responsive, informed source of advice and counsel to emerging and established screen practitioners.

Screen Australia said it recognised the producer offset continued to be a cornerstone of the Australian production industry and highlighted that coproductions were becoming far more important for the future success of the sector.

The agency devised the role to demystify the process of accessing the programmes and clarify the often complex components involved. The POCU advisor will play a key role in stakeholder engagement, outreach and education regarding Screen Australia’s administration of the producer offset and coproduction programmes.

McDonald is a well-established agency executive with over eight years’ experience.
