Screen Australia hires Joey Egger as head of games as part of digital unit shake-up

Funding agency Screen Australia has restructured its digital unit and appointed Joey Egger to the newly created role of head of games.

Joey Egger

Egger joins the screen agency with a 20-year pedigree in digital content creation, serving in roles with Sesame Workshop, ABC Kids, Two Bulls/Two Moos and, most recently, DEPT Agency, where she led games and innovation for the Asia Pacific region.

Under the restructure, head of online and games Lee Naimo has been appointed to the new position of head of online, working with Louise Gough, director of narrative content.

As head of games, Egger will work with the local games sector to foster growth and innovation in the industry and nurture new talent. She will report to Screen Australia chief operating officer Grainne Brunsdon and start work in the Melbourne office on March 2.

In addition to her production background, Egger also has policy and advocacy experience as a board director for the Interactive Games and Entertainment Association and Digital Games Tax Offset.
