Scorpion sales come together for Saltzman rock doc Meeting the Beatles in India

Paul McCartney in Paul Saltzman’s Meeting the Beatles in India

Germany’s Koch Media, Italy’s Nexo Digital and Norway’s Film Pa Farta have all bought rock documentary feature Meeting the Beatles in India.

Directed by Paul Saltzman and narrated by actor Morgan Freeman, the 1×89’ film revisits 1968 when Saltzman spent time with the fab four on a spiritual retreat under the mentorship of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.

The deals were done by London-based distributor Scorpion TV, which has also sold political documentary feature A President, Europe and War to VRPO in the Netherlands and YLE in Finland. The 1×115’ documentary is a fly-on-the-wall account of French president Emmanuel Macron’s handling of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Other sales have seen Arte in France pick up wildlife doc The Forest Within Us (1×52’); while Poland’s TVR and Sweden’s Ur have acquired Under Cover (1×58’), about homelessness in Australia.
