Schwarzenegger turns spy for Netflix

Global streamer Netflix has ordered a spy adventure series starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

From Skydance Television, the as-yet-untitled series follows a father and daughter who learn that they’ve each secretly been working as CIA operatives for years, realising their entire relationship has been a lie and they don’t truly know one another at all.

The 8×60’ series marks Schwarzenegger’s first TV project. The Terminator and Predator star will play the father, with Monica Barbaro (The Good Cop) as his daughter.

Creator, showrunner and exec producer Nick Santora (Jack Reacher) created and developed the original idea as part of his overall deal with Skydance Television.

Skydance Television has a long-standing relationship with Schwarzenegger, who is also exec producing the show, through films Terminator Genisys and Terminator: Dark Fate.

Skydance CEO David Ellison, chief creative officer Dana Goldberg and president of television Bill Bost are also exec producing.
