SBS takes Olympics doc and culinary travelogue from Principal Media

Magic in the Mountains focuses on the 1960 Winter Olympics

Australian pubcaster SBS has picked up a feature documnetary and a culinary travelogue series from LA-based distributor Principal Media.

Magic in the Mountains (1×79’) tells the story of how the tiny town of Squaw Valley, California won the right to host the 1960 Winter Olympics.

Magic in the Mountains is produced by Missouri-based Coolfire Studios, best known for US reality series Welcome To Sweetie’s Pies on The Oprah Winfrey Network.

United Plates of America examines US food culture

United Plates of America (52×30’) is hosted by Australian presenter Gary Takle, who takes a journey across the US to discover the underlying food culture that exists in every town and aims to bring people together through food.

Produced by California’s Abode Entertainment, where Takle is the president and CEO, the show recently completed its fifth season on Fox Life in the US.
