Saturday Night Live UK renewed for second season by Sky

The Saturday Night Live UK cast

Pay TV broadcaster Sky has commissioned a second season of Saturday Night Live (SNL) UK, ahead of the end of S1 next week.

Season two will consist of 12 episodes, airing on Sky One between autumn 2026 and early 2027 and streaming on Now.

Adapted from US network NBC’s long-running late-night comedy showcase, the British version of Saturday Night Live is produced by Broadway Video and Universal Television Alternative Studios (UTAS) UK. It is exec produced by Lorne Michaels, who created the original US format.

Phil Edgar Jones, executive director of unscripted originals at Sky, said: “It’s fair to say people doubted SNL would work in the UK, but thanks to Lorne Michaels, his long-time Saturday Night Live producing team and UTAS UK, alongside our brilliant cast and writers, SNL UK is Sky’s most talked-about show of the year.

“It’s now firmly part of the cultural conversation and we’re thrilled the show will be returning in the autumn, bringing laughter and mischief to our audiences, live from London on a Saturday night.”
