Satisfaction Iberia to bring Spanish adaptation of The Floor to RTVE’s La 1

Satisfaction Iberia is producing a Spanish language version of The Floor

Satisfaction Iberia will produce a Spanish adaptation of the Talpa Studios format The Floor for primetime on La 1, pubcaster RTVE’s main channel.

The move means the gameshow is shifting home in Spain, after a first season aired last year on Antena 3’s Atresmedia, produced by Mediacrest.

The news comes a week after the Portuguese version of the gameshow was announced, which Satisfaction Iberia will produce together with Coral Europa for pubcaster RTP.

RTVE’s green light came this Thursday during the last meeting of its board of directors, which also approved Maestros de la costura celebrity – the first celebrity version of the design talent show produced by Shine Iberia (Banijay Iberia), an adaptation of British format The Great British Sewing Bee.

The Floor is a competition between 100 contestants who face each other in question and answer duels on a giant LED floor divided into 100 equal squares, each of which represents its own field of knowledge. The objective is to conquer the entire floor.

Spain joins countries such as the US, France, Germany, Italy, Argentina, Ukraine, Romania and Hungary in adapting the format created in the Netherlands in 2023. The show has also been renewed for new seasons in the United States, Italy, France and Germany.

For Satisfaction Iberia, the Spanish version of The Floor will become its third production in progress since its launch in January of this year, after the Portuguese adaptation of The Floor and the primetime contest La Conexión for RTVE.

Satisfaction Iberia is a partnership between the French company Satisfaction Group and the Spanish executive and producer Daniel Domenjó, who was previously CEO of Mediacrest.
