Samsung TV Plus teams up with Amazon Live for ‘shoppable’ FAST channel

Samsung TV Plus has added an Amazon Live free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channel, it what it describes as a “first-of-its-kind” partnership

The Amazon Live FAST channel is now available and offers bespoke ‘Shop the Show’ technology as well as original series such as In Bed with Paige DeSorbo, plus coverage of major cultural events

By scanning an on-screen QR code, viewers will be given a synchronised shoppable experience in the Amazon Shopping app, letting them browse and purchase items featured on TV in real time and participate in live chats during live broadcasts.

As well as chatshow In Bed with Paige DeSorbo, other original series on the channel include Pick Your Prize and Shopping Court.

“By deepening our existing relationship with Amazon, this launch reinforces Samsung TV Plus’s content-to-commerce strategy – making it effortless for audiences to discover and purchase products the moment they appear on their Samsung TV.”

Samsung TV Plus claims more than 100 million monthly active users and offers thousands of shows and movies on demand in one place.

The streaming service carries more than 4,300 ad-supported linear channels across 30 countries and is accessible on active Samsung devices.

Its FAST channels include Letterman TV, Conan O’Brien TV, The Ringer from Spotify and BillboardTV, as well as channels fronted by digital creators such as Mark Rober, Dhar Mann and Michelle Khare.
