RTVE in Spain to adapt Talpa Studios gameshow The House of Hide & Seek

Spanish public broadcaster RTVE has commissioned Warner Bros ITVP Spain to create a local adaptation of Talpa Studios’ format The House of Hide & Seek.

RTL 4’s original The House of Hide & Seek

Locally titled El Escondite the show is based on the classic hide and seek game using a set with more than 120 hiding places, where the audience will follow every move of the contestants in real time.

The House of Hide & Seek was created by Talpa Studios and David Grifhorst and developed in collaboration with Fox Entertainment Studios in the US.

The project was originally commissioned by RTL 4 in the Netherlands in conjunction with the Videoland platform, which will release its first version this year. The Spanish version will be produced at Talpa Studios’ hub in the Netherlands.

Its sale into Spain marks the first international agreement for the format.

In each episode, six celebrities compete in a series of rounds that combine riddles, tension and strategy, alternating on-set challenges with intense searches inside the set in front of a live audience.
