RTL Netherlands and TV2 Denmark unpack Norwegian reality format The Box for local audiences

The Box was developed and produced by Oslo-based Seafood TV

Broadcasters RTL in the Netherlands and TV2 in Denmark have commissioned local language adaptations of new Norwegian format The Box.

The competition-based reality show was developed and produced by Oslo-based Seafood TV (Celebrity Taskforce). It launches on TV2 in Norway this week, where it’s presented by Mads Hansen (The Traitors Norway).

The Box sees 12 well-known personalities thrown into challenges for which they are completely unprepared. As soon as the door to the box opens, they will be in the middle of a frightening or entertaining challenge, which they must figure out how to complete.

The participants live together at a fixed base and each episode culminates in a duel where two contestants compete to stay in the game. The one who ultimately masters the most challenges will emerge as the winner.

Aleksander Herresthal, creator and producer at Seefood TV, said: “We greatly appreciate the international interest in The Box. Discussions are ongoing with more than 20 territories considering the format, and we’ve already finalised deals in five additional countries, which will be announced at a later stage, as they are not yet official.”
