RTL, Movistar Plus+, WOWOW, TVNZ make appointments with Sony and Fox’s Doc

Fox and Sony’s US medical procedural Doc has scored sales with a number of international buyers including RTL in Germany, WOWOW in Japan, Seven Network in Australia and Global in English-speaking Canada.
The series, which is coproduced by Sony Pictures Television and Fox Entertainment Studios and sold internationally by Sony, has also been licensed to Movistar Plus+ in Spain, AXN in Portugal, Max and HBO Max linear in Central and Eastern Europe, beIN in the Middle East and North Africa, AXN in South-east Asia, TVNZ in New Zealand, Quebecor Content in French-speaking Canada and The Walt Disney Company in Latin America.
Based on the Italian medical drama Doc – Nelle tue mani, the US version stars Molly Parker (Accused, House of Cards) as a brilliant doctor who suffers a brain injury that erases the last eight years of her life. The 10×60’ first season, which was one of the major titles showcased by Sony at the LA Screenings in May, is set to premiere on Fox in January.
Showrunner Barbie Kligman (Magnum P.I., Secrets & Lies) executive produces alongside Hank Steinberg, Erwin Stoff, Russell Fine, John Weber, Frank Siracusa and writer Judith McCreary (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan).

“When we unveiled Doc at the LA Screenings in May, we knew it was destined to repeat the same success throughout international territories that the original format achieved in Italy. Our mounting sales now confirm that and validate our strategy to invest in proven IP with broad and global appeal.”
