RTL books visit to Virgin Island with German adaptation of UK format

The UK version of Virgin Island

German broadcaster RTL has commissioned a local version of reality format Virgin Island for its streaming platform RTL+.

Originally produced by Double Act for Channel 4 in the UK, where two seasons have aired so far, Virgin Island takes a group of adult virgins on a unique intimacy course at a beachfront location to overcome their intimacy issues.

The German version, produced by RTL Studios, has just finished filming in Mexico. It marks the second adaptation of the format following a commission by Dutch pubcaster BNNVARA earlier this year.

Passion Distribution, which holds the sales rights, said several further international versions are currently in development and will be announced in due course.
