Roy to leave Reed Midem in New Year

After 13 years at the helm, the ceo of MipTV and Mipcom organiser Reed Midem has agreed to resign his post as of January 1, 2003.

Xavier Roy has spent the last year grooming Paul Zilk as his replacement, and Zilk will assume ceo status as of that date. However, Roy will continue on a part-time basis as advisor to Reed Midem throughout 2003.

{For almost a year now Paul has been working alongside me, and I'm convinced that in him I've found an excellent leader who will continue to develop the company and ensure its prosperity.{

Reflecting on his time at the helm of the outfit, Roy said: {The number of events we produce has risen from three to nine in the space of ten years; turnover has grown six-fold to nearly €76m and our employee numbers have gone from 87 to 313.{

He added that his total of 33 years at Reed Midem was a {wonderful life adventure.{
