Roku taps WBD, Hulu alum Lisa Holme as head of content after David Eilenberg exit

Roku has named former Warner Bros Discovery and Hulu exec Lisa Holme as its new head of content.

Lisa Holme

In the new Santa Monica-based role, Holme will lead Roku Media’s original programming, acquisitions, partnerships, sports and brand content, in addition to focusing on content innovations in emerging verticals and technologies. She will report to Roku Media president Charlie Collier, effective September 8.

During her time at WBD, Holme helped shape the company’s multiplatform content strategies for platforms including Discovery+ and HBO Max. At Hulu, she worked across content licensing, coproductions, partnerships and strategy.

Holme takes up the role formerly held by David Eilenberg, who returned to ITV America in the role of creative director earlier this year after a three-year stint with Roku.

“Lisa is an exceptional leader whose expertise spans every facet of the streaming content business,” said Collier.

“She brings a deep understanding of what resonates with audiences and elevates platforms, plus tremendous skill in leveraging those data-driven insights. Her proven ability to build teams, and her respect for the creative process and the people who bring stories to life, will make her an invaluable partner for Roku, our colleagues, and our peers, and we’re thrilled to have her join us.”
