Roku rejigs originals, acquisitions teams after scripted chief Colin Davis’s exit

L-R: Brian Tannenbaum, Olivia LaRoche, Vicki Lao and Jennifer Vaux

US-based streaming company Roku has made several changes to its originals team following the departure of former scripted head Colin Davis, with Brian Tannenbaum, Lydia Antonini and Olivia LaRoche taking on expanded roles.

Tannenbaum, a former Lionsgate and Quibi exec, has officially been named head of Roku originals at Roku Media, after taking the role on an interim basis earlier this month.

Antonini has been named head of scripted originals, while LaRoche has been elevated to head of alternative originals.

The promotions were triggered by the exit of Davis, who was appointed executive VP of comedy development at Sony Pictures Television Studios.

Tannenbaum will report to David Eilenberg, Roku Media’s VP and head of content, who was elevated to the company’s top content post in January after the departure of former programming VP Rob Holmes. Antonini and LaRoche will report to Tannenbaum.

In addition, Roku’s content acquisitions team will now come under the oversight of Eilenberg, with several execs taking on expanded responsibilities.

Jennifer Vaux, formerly the senior director of content acquisitions for The Roku Channel, has been promoted to VP of content acquisition and programming, reporting to Eilenberg.

In addition, Vicki Lao has been elevated to director of content acquisition, reporting to Vaux.

The changes are part of the reshaping of Roku’s original programming and acquisition efforts under new president of Roku Media Charlie Collier. He joined the company in October after previously serving as CEO of Fox Entertainment.
