Roku accepts The Deal from Electric Entertainment, LinLay Productions

The Deal is set in a world beset by overpopulation and climate change

NEWS BRIEF: AVoD platform The Roku Channel in the US, Canada, UK and Latin America has picked up dystopian movie thriller The Deal.

Starring Sumalee Montano (Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol, Ghost of Tsushima) and Emma Fischer (Counterpart), The Deal is set in a world where overpopulation and global warming have put an impossible strain on world resources. It is produced by Montano and Grace Lay’s production company LinLay Productions, and Dean Devlin and Lisa Brenner at Electric Entertainment, which also acts as distributor. Electric’s head of domestic sales, Steve Saltman, negotiated the deal with Roku.
