Rive Gauche hands out Misdiagnosis

US sales house Rive Gauche Television (RGTV) picked up the global distribution rights to medical series My Misdiagnosis ahead of Mipcom and has also secured a number of deals for its factual programming.

The 26×60’ series, produced by Canadian outfit Farpoint Films, explores the stories of people who were told they needed radical surgery, expensive medication or other life-changing treatment when they were unnecessary.

Additionally, ProSieben in Germany, CBS Reality in the UK and Australia’s Foxtel have acquired Something’s Killing Me. The 6×60’ series investigates life-or-death medical crimes and originally aired on CNN’s US cablenet HLN. Japan’s Nippon TV and Discovery in Italy and Spain have also taken the series.

CBS Reality has also acquired crime series Ice Cold Killers, Evil Twins and Fame Kills, while Trace of Evil and Uncovering have been picked up by Foxtel. TV4 in Sweden, A+E Networks UK and ProSieben acquired another crime series, Homicide Hunter.

ProSieben and Discovery in Italy have also taken additional programming, My Strange Addition and Dog Whisperer respectively. Finally, RGTV’s Buying… franchise has been sold to Nine Network in Australia.
