It is produced by Colon’s Dallas-headquartered prodco (open-ended) films, with partial funding from the Austin Film Society 2023 Film Grant and documentary film prodco XTR.

The factual project tells the story of how podcasting became an industry with 400 million listeners globally. It features interviews with prominent audio content producers such as Ira Glass, Kara Swisher, and Kevin Smith.

Executive producers are Bryn Mooser and Justin Lacob. International distribution is being handled by LA-based FAST channel provider acTVe.

Colon said: “As a filmmaker and devoted fan, I was inspired to create this documentary to capture the explosive growth of spoken word audio.

“Podcasting is a worldwide phenomenon, and this insightful, often humorous and occasionally dark doc comes at the right time to look at the history and look forward to a bright future.”
