Reesee Entertainment takes Guru’s Pikwik Pack to China for preschoolers

Chinese broadcasters including Tencent and Youku have picked up preschool series Pikwik Pack from Toronto’s Guru Studio.

The 52×11’ series premiered last November on US channel Disney Junior and follows a varied group of animals tasked with delivering packages around the little town of Pikwik.

Chinese kids’ distributor Reesee Entertainment has obtained the local sales rights to the series and has also sealed deals with national streaming platforms Xiaomi, Haixin, Kukai and TCL. The Chinese premiere is expected in November this year.

The show also currently airs on kids’ channels Treehouse Canada and Tiny Pop in the UK and is streaming on Disney+ in Australia and New Zealand.

The series is rolling out later this year on more linear broadcasters including Super RTL in Germany, Rai Yoyo in Italy, YLE in Finland, Canal Panda in Portugal and Spain, HOP in Israel, Minimini+ in Poland, Channel 5 in Singapore, and Disney Channel in Korea and India.

Guru Studio is the animation studio behind animated show PAW Patrol and Netflix Original series True and the Rainbow Kingdom.
