Raw Cut TV taps BBC commissioner

London-based indie Raw Cut has appointed a BBC Daytime commissioner as its creative director.

Gerard Melling joins the factual indie from the UK pubcaster, where he brought crime and harder factual shows such as The Sheriffs Are Coming, Thief Trackers and Fake Britain to the daytime schedule. He also oversaw successful dramas including The Indian Doctor.

Raw Cut produces ITV shows including The Detectives: Inside the Major Crimes Team and The Murder of Sadie Hartley as well as factual series such as Channel 5’s primetime programme Police Interceptors and Really’s Cops UK: Bodycam Squad.

Melling will report to Raw Cut MD Steve Warr.
