Rauch called before NBC’s Night Court reboot

NBC’s Night Court first aired in 1984

US broadcast network NBC has given a pilot order to a reboot of sitcom Night Court starring The Big Bang Theory actor Melissa Rauch.

Night Court first aired on NBC in 1984 and the reboot follows judge Abby Stone (Rauch), daughter of the late Harry Stone from the first series.

She presides over the night shift at a Manhattan arraignment court and tries to bring order to its crew of oddballs and cynics, most notably former night court prosecutor Dan Fielding (John Larroquette).

Produced by After January Productions in association with Warner Bros Television and Universal Television, the new version will be written by Dan Rubin (The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), who is also serving as exec producer along with Winston Rauch.
