Quibi lands Look Mom! animation

Doomlands comes from Josh O’Keefe

Shortform video app Quibi has ordered an original adult animated series from Blue Ant-owned Look Mom! Productions.

Doomlands (working title) revolves around the bizarre lives of two landlords who serve beers across a hellish wasteland in their mobile subterranean pub, The Oasis. In order to survive, all the crew needs to do is not kill each other.

The show was created by Josh O’Keefe, who also directs. The writers are Roger Bainbridge, Mark Little and Kayla Lorette, with Josh Bowen exec producing.

Bowen, exec producer and creative director at Look Mom!, said: “When I was first introduced to Josh O’Keefe’s concept for Doomlands, I immediately loved the idea of a motley crew of characters roaming around a wasteland in a subterranean vehicle that doubles as a bar.

“The only thing I was disappointed in is the fact that there isn’t a bar that exists like this in real life. We couldn’t have found better partners in Quibi and can’t wait for The Oasis to roll onto screens across Canada and the US.”

Quibi launched across the US and Canada earlier this month, and reached more than 1.7 million downloads in its opening week.
