Pulse Films hires Archery Pictures’ Judy Counihan as scripted creative director

Pulse Films, part of the Vice Media Group, has brought on board Academy Award-winning producer Judy Counihan as its new scripted creative director.

Counihan was most recently creative director at Archery Pictures (Riviera, The State, Operation Mincemeat) and worked across feature films and television drama series. She was exec producer on two seasons of Netflix’s Fate: The Winx Saga .

Prior to joining Archery, Counihan was CEO of Solution 3 Productions, part of All3Media. Her company produced comedy series Bucket for BBC4 and she executive produced hit series Bulletproof for Sky. She has also served as head of film and television at Objective Productions and was exec producer of drama at IWC Media.

Counihan has twice won the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film, in 2001 for No Man’s Land and in 1995 for Antonia’s Line. She also produced Oscar-nominated Before the Rain, which won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival and Best Foreign Film at the Independent Spirit Awards.

A creative leader of Judy’s calibre will accelerate Pulse Films’ ambitions to reach even greater heights.”

Pulse Films recently launched the second season of the Sky/AMC smash hit Gangs of London starring Sope Dirisu, Joe Cole and Michelle Fairley.
