Propagate International hires ITV Studios exec Isabelle Azoulay for formats role

LA-based producer-distributor Propagate International has hired former ITV Studios exec Isabelle Azoulay as executive VP and head of formats.

Based in Amsterdam, Azoulay will lead Propagate’s global formats business, overseeing sales and acquisitions. She joins from ITV Studios Global Entertainment, where she was senior VP of licensing for unscripted in Europe and Latin America.

Prior to that, Azoulay was senior VP of licensing at Talpa Global, overseeing unscripted formats in Europe and Latin America and scripted format sales worldwide. She also previously held roles at Calt Distribution and TF1 International.

Meanwhile, Propagate has promoted Catalina Ramirez to VP of sales and acquisitions, while upping Dan Thunell to director of sales and development for MENA and Eastern Europe.

Based in LA, Ramirez joined Propagate last year and is the lead of partnerships among local Spanish-speaking production companies. She previously worked at Magnolia Pictures and Gunpowder & Sky.

Also based in LA, Thunell, who also manages Propagate’s local production international pipeline, joined the company in 2017 as part of its development team, before moving to the international department in 2019.
