Propagate hires Farrokh from Electus

NATPE: Propagate Content, the LA-based production company owned by Ben Silverman and Howard T Owens, has poached a senior exec from Electus to lead its fledgling distribution arm.

Cyrus Farrokh, previously senior VP and head of sales at Electus, is here in Miami with Propagate as president of the firm’s global production and distribution arm, which launched at Mipcom last year.

The move reunites Farrokh with former NBC Entertainment and Electus boss Silverman, who last year brought in Electus’s Sean Canino to oversee scripted. Silverman founded Electus in 2009 and left it in 2016.

Farrokh was promoted in March last year, having joined Electus in 2012 from Shine International.

A+E Networks-backed Propagate’s slate include Apple’s first original TV series, Planet of the Apps, an unscripted series set in the world of app development.

Scripted series it is attached to include Isn’t That Rich?, Amy Harris’s adaptation of the book of the same name by Richard Kirshenbaum with ABC Studios, Red Team for Amazon, and an hour-long horror series based on the podcast Lore.
