Prince Harry challenge doc set for ITV

UK commercial channel ITV1 will air a one-off documentary from indie prodco Twofour on a team of wounded servicemen attempting to scale Mount Everest.

The challenge will see a five-strong team of injured soldiers tackling Everest as part of a challenge launched by Prince Harry, who joined the team prior to their departure for Nepal and then followed their fortunes during a 10-week journey.

The five soldiers were all injured while on active service in Afghanistan and Iraq. Twofour followed the group’s progress for Harry’s Mountain Heroes (wt), a 1×90′ documentary that will also focus on the prince’s role as patron of the Walking With The Wounded charity.

The programme was commissioned for ITV by factual commissioning editor Diana Howie and director of factual and daytime Alison Sharman. It is executive produced by Bridget Sneyd and Melanie Leach and produced and directed by Alexis Girardet.
