Prime Video renews UK version of Last One Laughing from Zeppotron and Initial

Amazon streaming service Prime Video has renewed the UK version of comedy format Last One Laughing for a second season.

Comedian Jimmy Carr will return as host alongside a new line-up of comedians who are yet to be announced. The show will be produced by Banijay UK labels Zeppotron and Initial later this year.

The 6×30’ second run will launch in 2026 on Prime Video internationally, while S1 is still available to stream globally.

Last One Laughing UK is the latest adaptation of the successful Amazon Original series from Japan, titled Documental.

The format, created by and originally fronted by Hitoshi Matsumoto and owned by Yoshimoto Kogyo, sees 10 comedians bet their own money in an anything goes “battle of laughter behind closed doors.”

Local celebrity hosts include Graham Norton (Ireland), Jay Baruchel (Canada), Eugenio Derbez (Mexico), Fedez (Italy), Michael ‘Bully’ Herbig (Germany), Rebel Wilson (Australia) and Trevor Noah (South Africa).

Carr said: “I’m absolutely delighted that Last One Laughing is coming back for a second series. I think what’s happened is someone high up at Amazon has clicked ‘subscribe & save’ on Prime Video and, hey presto, we’re back in business. I’m so pleased people had as much fun watching the first season as we had making it.”
