Amazon Prime Video greenlights Hello Sunshine cheerleading comedy All Stars

Reese Witherspoon in The Morning Show

Amazon Prime Video has handed a two-season order to All Stars, a cheerleading comedy produced by Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine banner.

Witherspoon will also star in and executive produce the half-hour series, which comes from creator and showrunner Aline Brosh McKenna (The Devil Wears Prada).

Lauren Neustadter, who serves as president of film and TV at Candle Media-backed Hello Sunshine, is also an executive producer.

The show follows a former cheerleader (played by Witherspoon) who cons her way across the pond to teach cheerleading at a school in England.

Amazon said it picked up the show in a competitive situation, outbidding several other buyers.

Hello Sunshine’s TV credits The Morning Show (Apple TV+), Little Fires Everywhere (Hulu), From Scratch (Netflix) and upcoming drama The Last Thing He Told Me (Apple TV+). For Amazon, the company is also producing the musical series Daisy Jones & The Six, which is set to debut in March.
