French-Canadian murder mystery drama Nuit Blanche is set to return for a second season after Prime Video in Canada revived the series.

Season one of the show debuted on Canadian public broadcaster ICI Radio-Canada Télé in 2021 but it was not renewed.

Prime Video in Canada has now partnered with Corus Entertainment’s French-language pay TV network Séries Plus to greenlight an 8×60’ second season.

Filming on new episodes is set to begin in Quebec this summer, with Montreal-based Pixcom producing.

S2 will launch exclusively in Canada on Prime Video and will later air on Séries Plus. Prime Video also acquired the first season.

Created and written by Julie Hivon (Alertes), the show follows the Hébert family in two time frames, one in the present as they investigate the murder of the family’s matriarch and the other in the past. The cast is led by France Castel, who reprises her role as LouLou Hébert.

The series is produced by Pixcom in association with Amazon Studios and Séries Plus, with Nicola Merola, Charles Lafortune and Sylvie Desrochers serving as executive producers. Nathalie Cecyre is producer.

“Following the launch of LOL: Qui Rira le Dernier?, Nuit Blanche is another example of our growth and investment in French-Canadian programming,” Nav Saini, head of content at Prime Video Canada. “We remain committed to working with creatives like Pixcom to further grow our content offering and bring Francophone customers what they want to watch.”
