Prime Video builds new versions of Banijay’s The Bridge in Nordics

Zeppelin format The Bridge

Amazon streamer Prime Video is set to adapt Banijay’s reality competition format The Bridge in four Nordic territories.

Sweden’s Meter Television, Mastiff Norway, Denmark’s Metronome and Endemol Shine Finland will all produce 6×40’ local versions of the show, which is slated to premiere on November 4.

The Bridge is the first Nordic reality show to be acquired by the streaming service and sees a group of strangers attempt to build a 220m bridge using basic tools and their bare hands. The object is to reach an island containing a cash prize.

The Prime Video commission brings the number of local iterations of The Bridge to 10. The format, which was created by Banijay Iberia’s subsidiary Zeppelin, is now heading into a second season in the UK on Channel 4 and debuts in Australia this year.
