Portugal’s SIC, AMC Iberia, AETN shop for factual and movies at GRB Studios

Death Walker with Nick Groff has gone to Discovery for the UK and Ireland

MIPCOM: Broadcasters and streamers across Europe, MENA, Africa and APAC, including SIC in Portugal and AMC Iberia, have struck deals with GRB Studios for  shows from its library of factual and scripted titles.

The largest is with SIC in Portugal, which has licensed five factual shows, among them celebrity-fronted travelogue series Down to Earth with Zac Efron and documentary series Pregnant & Dating.

It has also taken doc Remembering Whitney, featuring newly discovered footage of the six-time Grammy winner, and the movie Bobbi Kristina, about the difficult life of Houston and Bobby Brown’s daughter.

Also covered by the deal is six-part docuseries Cinderella Bride, which looks at weddings from the wedding planner’s perspective.

Elsewhere, AMC Iberia has licensed season three of lifestyle auctioning series Auction Kings for Spain and Portugal.

GRB Studios has also closed several single-title deals in Europe, including the sale of season three of investigative paranormal series Death Walker with Nick Groff to Discovery for the UK and Ireland. The series focuses on the origins of some notorious hauntings in US.

Meanwhile, AETN has picked up long-running true crime investigation series On the Case (seasons 11A-11B) for the UK and Ireland.

In MENA, OSN has licensed two celebrity-fronted lifestyle shows: Down to Earth with Zac Efron and travelogue series Lens of Culture, fronted by influencer Tai Beauchamp and photographer Elton Anderson.

GRB Studios has also struck a couple of licensing deals with African-based broadcasters, including My Channel, which has picked up long-running emergency room factual series Untold Stories, (seasons two 2 to 8) for Angola, Cape Verde and Mozambique.

A second deal with pan-African service Canal+ involves three romantic movies: Downsized, For the Love of Ruth and The Summoning.

In the Far East, Japan’s Nippon TV has licensed wildlife title When Fish Attack II, which examines unexpected attacks by fish and features both victims and marine experts.
