Pop in the UK acquires YouTube animated kids series from Juventus Football Club

Team Jay first launched on a Juventus YouTube channel

UK free-to-air kids’ channel Pop has acquired an animated series produced and funded by Juventus Football Club in Italy.

Team Jay originally launched on the YouTube channel TeamJaybyJuventus and follows the adventures of the Team Juventus mascot Jay the Zebra, who shares his love of football with four friends.

Together they embark on a series of adventures, where they put into practice the skills they have learnt from playing football.

The Italian football club operates the Juventus Creator Lab to provide content for its global fanbase and tap into societal trends.

Francesca Newington, director of kids’ channels at Narrative Entertainment, said: “Here at Narrative we’re committed to sourcing entertaining, kids-safe content from all corners – including digital first IP.

“The acquisition of Team Jay is a perfect example of our combined digital and linear approach and couldn’t come at a better time, with excitement for sport at an all-time high this summer.”
