Poland’s TVN flies Over the Atlantic with Finnish adventure reality format

Over the Atlantic is distributed by Rabbit Films, producer of the original version

Polish broadcaster TVN has commissioned a local version of Finnish adventure reality format Over the Atlantic.

The show was originally greenlit by Discovery-owned TV5 in Finland and produced there by Rabbit Films, the Finnish producer and distributor which is handling global sales of the show.

TVN has commissioned an 8×60’ Polish version to be produced by Jake Vision.

In the show, six celebrities are given a once-in-a-lifetime challenge to sail across the Atlantic Ocean. Week on week, they learn how to sail, work as a team and overcome harsh conditions.

The first season of the Norwegian version of the format is set to debut on TV Norge next Tuesday, while the third season of the Swedish edition will premiere on the same day on Kanal 5.

Other international adaptations of the format include Denmark, where the show’s third season aired earlier this year on Kanal 5, plus Vier in Belgium and SBS6 in The Netherlands. The show has also been optioned in various territories including the UK, Germany, French-speaking Belgium and France.
