Poland votes for Mum of The Week

London-based distributor Can’t Stop Media has sold French factual entertainment format Mum of The Week to broadcasters in countries including Finland, Turkey, Poland, and Russia.

The show, which looks at four parents with different social backgrounds and lifestyles and rates their child-rearing methods, was originally commissioned by D8 in France.

The network is set to air a 10-episodes series, produced with Paris-based indie Equilibre Production, in the fall.

Five adaptations of the format are already in production.

In Poland, Can’t Stop Media has partnered with TVN and Golden Media Polska for a first season of up to 16 episodes set to air weekly from September.

In Finland, Melonen Media has commissioned 10 weekly episodes from Banijay, while in Turkey, Kanal Kurk has ordered a daily adaptation with an initial commission of 45 episodes from HMO. In Russia, CTC will produce a pilot this summer.

Options have also been acquired by Sony Pictures’ Victory Television (UK and Ireland), Endemol (Italy), Zodiak (Spain), Banijay (Denmark, Norway and Sweden), SeaPoint Productions (Germany), North Sea Camels (Netherlands), FremantleMedia (Flemish Belgium) and SEO (Austria and Switzerland).
