Pluto TV picks up Blue Ant factual package

Pluto TV will carry Pet Heroes in the US, UK and Lat Am

ViacomCBS-owned AVoD platform Pluto TV has acquired more than 650 hours of factual programming from Canada’s Blue Ant International.

The package includes Pet Heroes (24×30’), produced by Canadian prodco Corkscrew Media, which tells the real-life stories of animals who perform heroic rescue acts. The series will be available on Pluto TV in the US, UK and Latin America in both English and Spanish.

Additional highlights for English-speaking audiences include several DIY and home-renovation titles starring celebrity designer Sarah Richardson. These include four seasons of Sarah’s House (49×30’), from Toronto-based SRH Productions, which shadows Richardson as she completes the full renovation of a home and offers tips and tricks along the way.

US Spanish-speaking audiences will also have access to Pick a Puppy (48×30’), from Canuck indie Rhino Content, which looks at different dog breeds as families search for the ideal puppy; Rebel Without a Kitchen (26×30’), from General Purpose Entertainment, which joins chef Matt Basile as he hits the road to take on local cuisine in unexpected places; and Taste of the Country (13×30’), produced in-house by Blue Ant Studios, starring creative entrepreneur Danielle French, who designs and executes rustic-chic events at her rural property.

In France, Pluto TV will offer Dino Hunt (4×60’) from Canada’s Cream Productions, in which palaeontologists use CGI technology to bring dinosaurs ‘back to life’ and Donut Showdown (40×30’) from the Nikki Ray Media Agency, among other shows.

The deal was brokered by Ludo Dufour, senior VP of international coproductions and sales at Blue Ant International, with Kate Blank, senior director of international sales at Blue Ant International, securing sales to Pluto TV in France.
