OUTtv Proud, a channel carrying 400 hours of original series, documentaries, films and specials from Canadian LGBTQ+ network and streamer OUTtv, is set to launch on Pluto TV in Canada. The OUTtv Proud channel is a partnership between OUTtv and Latino-owned media company Fuse Media.

Also set to launch later this month is Shades of Black, a FAST channel celebrating black culture with a collection of studio and independent films, documentaries, scripted series and reality shows. The channel is a partnership between Cinedigm, Quincy Newell’s TwentyOne14 Media and Fuse Media.

The announcements were made at the CMPA Prime Time event held in Ottawa last week.

Shades of Black has been a success internationally and surpassed one billion minutes watched in 2022, according to Fuse.

In addition, four of Blue Ant’s FAST channels, Haunt TV, Crime TIme, Homeful and History Time, will all launch on the service.

Pluto TV in Canada launched on December 1 with more than 100 channels and 20,000 hours of content. The Canadian version of the service was launched via a partnership between Paramount Global and local broadcast group Corus Entertainment.

“Paramount has a long-standing commitment to increasing diverse representation, both onscreen and off,” said Katrina Kowalski, VP of content, Pluto TV and Paramount+ in Canada. “This partnership speaks to our commitment, while also enhancing Pluto TV’s already vast channel line-up.”
