Pivot names acquisitions chief

Participant Media’s fledgling US cablenet Pivot has appointed a former AMC/Sundance Channel Global exec as its senior VP of acquisitions and operations.

Jennie Morris is tasked with expanding Pivot’s slate of on-brand acquisitions, including series, films, documentaries and specials.

She previously held the position of VP of affiliate marketing at AMC/Sundance Channel Global. Prior to that, she was senior director of programme planning and scheduling for Sundance Channel.

Meanwhile, Jerry Blake has been appointed senior VP of business and legal affairs.

Blake joins from BBC Worldwide Americas where he focused on US distribution of BBC America and BBC World news, and digital distribution of BBC programming in North America.

Both will be based out of Pivot’s Los Angeles office, with Blake reporting to Jeff Ivers, chief operating officer of Participant Media, and Pivot president Evan Shapiro. Morris will report to Kent Rees, exec VP of marketing, scheduling and operations.
