Ailsa Orr becomes head of creative and international strategy, which will see her work across 360’s offices in Belfast and London.

Orr, a former head of programmes at BBC Northern Ireland, joined Tinopolis-owned Pioneer Productions in late 2013.

John Farren, 360’s founder and current creative head, will continue in a consulting role, whilst moving to advise on Rare Television Group’s content strategy.

Rare was set up in 2014 by former Ingenious Ventures MD Antony Fraser and Joel Denton and acquired 360 Production in June.

360 has produced factual series such as Rome: The Rise of a Super Power with Larry Lamb on Channel 5 and Digging For Britain with Dr Alice Roberts on BBC4, both in the UK.

Antony Fraser, CEO of Rare, said the appointment of Orr “marks a turning point where 360 further extends its reach into popular factual programming and targets new international markets.”

“At the same time we believe John will make a significant impact across the group by bringing his 360 approach to bear on our broader content strategy,” Fraser added.

Last month Rare announced the acquisition of Screen Channel Television, the indie behind BBC show The Sheriffs Are Coming. It also has a development deal with talent shop Baby Grand Productions.
