PGS hires for Spanish base

France’s PGS Entertainment has hired the former international sales and coproduction manager at Spanish animation studio Motion Pictures to work out of its new Barcelona office.

The Paris-based distributor has appointed Xavi Mas, who left Motion Pictures after 10 years last month, as its senior VP of global sales in Spain.

Mas will focus on Central Europe, Latin America and Asia for PGS, which holds rights to series such as Robin Hood: Mischief in Sherwood, The Jungle Bunch, Super 4 and Alvinnn!!! and The Chipmunks.

The company set up shop in Hong Kong to increase its reach in Asia in 2013 and part of Mas’ role at PGS will be to liaise with this office.
