Pearson gets quizzical

In Germany, Das Quiz mit Jörg Pilawa, a new quiz show from Pearson Television (Germany) and White Balance, made a successful debut on ARD.

First going to air on July 25, the quiz show, fronted by one of the country’s household names Jörg Pilawa, pulled in 2.47 million viewers or a 16.1% market share.

The pubcaster’s average market share for the timeslot since the beginning of the year has been 10.2%, with Das Quiz delivering a 57.8% increase.

In the relevant target group (14-49 demographic), the channel also improved its entire average of the previous month from 8.6% to 14.2% (Source GfK).

Since its launch, Das Quiz mit Jörg Pilawa, which is stripped Wednesday through Friday at 18:45, has achieved an average audience of 2.28 million viewers and a market share of 14.7%.

The format of the show, which revolves around couples in close relationships and offers a maximum prize of DM500,000 ($235,000), was developed by Pearson in-house and is a co-production with Hamburg’s White Balance.
