Peacock lands on Prime Video in US after Comcast, Amazon sign wide-ranging deal

Peacock’s line-up of originals includes a US version of The Traitors

US streamer Peacock will be offered via Prime Video Channels in the US after Comcast and Amazon struck a multi-faceted agreement.

Under the deal, Peacock’s ad-free tier will be available for the first time via Prime Video, which has become one of the biggest streaming aggregators in the US and already offers Paramount+, HBO Max, Apple TV+ and Starz.

Peacock, whose roster of originals includes US versions of The Traitors and Love Island, as well as a suite of sports programming, will be offered as an add-on within Prime Video for US$16.99 monthly or US$169.99 annually.

Peacock has around 41 million subscribers in the US but lags behind streaming rivals such as Netflix, Prime Video and HBO Max. The new pact with Amazon will help expand its footprint and other deals are expected to follow.

In addition to the Peacock-Prime Video agreement, the companies also renewed several existing distribution deals that enable users to access Peacock on Fire TV, buy and rent films from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment on Prime Video and watch Prime Video on Xfinity X1 devices.

For Amazon, the deal is part of its goal to offer all streaming services within its own app. Most recently, it struck a deal with Fox Corp to offer the newly launched SVoD service Fox One in the US.
