PBS Masterpiece strikes Gold with All3Media Int’l

The Gold

NEWS BRIEF: US public broadcaster PBS has picked up UK crime drama The Gold, written by Neil Forsyth (Eric, Ernie & Me, Guilt), for its Masterpiece strand in a deal with distributor All3Media International, which has also sold digital rights to CBC Gem in Canada.

The drama is inspired by the true story of the £26m (US$33m) Brink’s-Mat robbery at London’s Heathrow Airport in 1983. PBS has also picked up the forthcoming second season, which delves into the decades-long aftermath of the crime. Produced by Tannadice Pictures and Objective Fiction, part of Objective Media, for the BBC, The Gold is the latest All3Media International drama secured by Masterpiece, joining titles such as All Creatures Great & Small, Van der Valk and Annika.
