Paramount+ takes over MTV, Nickelodeon

The Comey Rule stars Brendan Gleeson as Donald Trump

ViacomCBS will today overhaul the schedules of its TV channels in Latin America to showcase content from its fledgling streaming service Paramount+.

The programming grids of MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Networks and Comedy Central will feature a full day of content from Paramount+, which launches today in the US, Canada and 18 countries in Latin America.

MTV will feature episodes of shows such as Chica Rara, Geordie Shore, Caniggia Libre, La Venganza de los Ex, Acapulco Shore and Catfish.

The channel will also show episodes from Showtime originals including Black Monday, starring Don Cheadle and Regina Hall; Donald Trump drama miniseries about The Comey Rule, staring Jeff Daniels and Brendan Gleeson; Two Weeks to Live, starring Maisie Williams; and Escape at Dannemora, with Benicio del Toro and Patricia Arquette.

Nickelodeon will air an animated programming block featuring SpongeBob Squarepants, The Loud House and The Casagrandes, in addition to a sneak peak of Paramount+ exclusive Kamp Koral, its spin-off from SpongeBob SquarePants.

Paramount Network will feature The Handmaid’s Tale, Killing Eve and Yellowstone, plus the first episodes of Black Monday, The Comey Rule and Escape at Dannemora.

Comedy Central, meanwhile, will feature episodes of Se Rentan Cuartos, La Culpa es de la Malinche, Bar Central, La Culpa es de Cabral and La Culpa es de Carlota, as well as the first episodes of Black Monday, The Comey Rule, Two Weeks to Live and Escape at Dannemora.

At launch, consumers in Latin America can sign up for a seven-day free trial or a monthly subscription of 79 pesos (US$3.78) in Mexico, 19.90 reals (US$3.54) in Brazil and 299 pesos (US$3.31) in Argentina.

Paramount+ was unveiled last month, replacing the US media giant’s existing streamer CBS All Access in the US.

It is due to arrive in the Nordics on March 25 and an Australian launch is planned for later this year, with additional markets are set to follow.
